Redwood sap wood was pulled from the outside of a log . The sides and bottom are curly grain redwood from Big Sur. Bay Laurel box w/redwood burl base. Rippled redwood bark lid trimmed w/hammered copper. This trunk has found a home in Texas. ![]() ![]() This box sits in the store as of Feb. 2nd 2009. The sides,front and back are from a 680 year old redwood from Watsonville. The top is Redwood lace burl that was cut over 70 years ago. All the hardware except the lock is reproduction solid bronze. The stickers are Zebra wood scraps from a fine furniture maker (Roger Combs).
