95% of all the redwood @ Moonstone Redwood is from a single redwood tree. In the beginning I had only old decking, fences, siding, hot tubs and old water tank wood to create with. One day a man phoned me from Watsonville on Mount Madonna. His name is Sean Cassidy, a licensed tree feller. Sean told me that he was hired to cut and remove a 600 year old redwood that had fallen at the entrance to an estate on a manicured hillside. Sean stated that in his thirty some years of felling and trimming redwoods, he had never seen a redwood tree like this one. I drove north to Watsonville to see this Medusa like tree. Sure enough it was something to behold. I purchased the tree on sight and helped Sean to move it in the largest pieces as possible to a 2700 acre ranch that joined the property the tree fell on. I have brought eight trailer loads back to Cambria and still only have about half of the majestic giant @ Moonstone Redwood. After building condominiums for fifteen years and working as a set builder in Burbank for twelve years, I am now doing what I feel is what I was meant to do. This awesome work of nature (600 year old redwood) has changed my life more than anyone or anything in my life before This six and a half year journey began in 2004. Thank you God!
